About Me
Aisha Willard, MA, LMFT, CMHS
I have worked in mental health for the past 15 years in a variety of settings including group homes, day treatment centers, crisis shelters, and community-based therapy. The first 6 years after obtaining my Masters were dedicated to working with children and youth and their families, offering individual, couples and family therapy directly within the community, while the last 2 years have been spent in a private practice setting. My experience has equipped me to work with a wide variety of individuals and families by teaching me that each person and family is unique and should be treated as such.
I use a variety of techniques to help individuals, couples and families overcome struggles such as, but not limited to EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I additionally use Gottman techniques when working with couples, and consider attachment theory when working with individuals or families.
I spend my free time in the Pacific Northwest with my husband and four kids where I have lived for the past 12 years. As a family we enjoy hiking and exploring the PNW as well as playing games (board and video) and adopting a ridiculous amount of animals, which so far includes three cats, two chickens, a bearded dragon, a guinea pig, and some fish, because…why not?
